TO REPORT PROBLEM WITH A PROPERTY

Problems with properties

You can contact code compliance officers for problems such as unmowed lawn, trash piling up, cars parked on the driveway, unrepaired damage to a home, vacant home that is insecure, too many dogs, etc.  It is especially helpful for everyone to keep an eye on the vacant (for sale, foreclosed) homes.

Please be sure to let the neighborhood association know of the problem as well so we can keep track of these properties.  We can report the problem for you if you would like.

If a rental property receives multiple code violation complaints and/or calls for police service we can ask the city attorney to declare the property a "nuisance property."  This gives us additional leverage in asking landlords to take care of problems.  If the problems go unresolved over time, the landlord can actually lose the property.
