Keeping Neighbors in Touch (KNIT)

Keeping neighbors in touch is the goal for our neighborhood watch activities.

Its not just about monitoring activities, doing crime prevention, and reporting crime although that is important. It's also about helping neighbors learn to know one another, to count on each other for help and support, and to have fun in the neighborhood.

We are looking for one contact person per block to do the following:

(1) Share information from the neighborhood association with neighbors on your block
(2) Share concerns, ideas, questions from your neighbors with the neighborhood association
(3) Be aware of crime prevention strategies and report suspicious activities to Lansing Police Department and the Neighborhood Association
(4) Attend one meeting per year with other leaders
(5) Organize monthly (or more) walks around the block with neighbors on your own or with the neighborhood association (optional)

To learn more or to lead or participate in your block's KNIT group please contact us!
