The Special Operations Section is responsible for many tasks that require undercover operations in order to enforce various state and local laws. Officers assigned to the unit investigate a multitude of crimes relating to vice and prostitution, gambling violations, and liquor law violations. The unit is also responsible for fugitive extraditions, the landlord tenant program, the hotel-motel drug interdiction program, and follow up on all patrol narcotics cases. Also located in the Special Operations Section is the REACH team and Tri-County Metro Narcotics team. These teams focus on narcotics enforcement. The Special Operations Section is commanded by Lt.
