Problems with Properties
For problems with properties call our Code Compliance Officer, Gregg Scrimger, at 483-7620. He is incredibly responsive and a real asset to keeping our neighborhood in great shape! You can call him for problems such as unmowed lawn, trash piling up, cars parked on the driveway, unrepaired damage to a home, vacant home that is insecure, too many dogs, etc. It is especially helpful for everyone to keep an eye on the vacant (for sale, foreclosed) homes.
Graffiti
When you see graffiti please call the City of Lansing gang & graffiti hotline at 483-4264. Take a picture if you can and email it to us as a back-up. We've been told that a Lansing Police Officer is assigned to document all the graffiti, but it doesn't hurt for us to have a back-up copy.
- If the graffiti is on private property the property owner will have a short time to remove it before being fined. If it is a financial hardship to the property owner, the city may be able to assist the property owner.
- If the graffti is on public property (e.g. back of street signs) the city (often Parks and Recreation dept.) will remove it.
- If it is located on park playground equipment we have a graffiti removal kit that we can use to remove it after it is recorded.
- If it is located on school property then the school district will remove it.
