Sept 4th - Thanks for making our 2008 Block Party a huge successs!
More than a hundred folks turned out despite the rain to meet their neighbors and learn about the neighborhood watch program.
Thank you Principal Thill (shown below commanding the LPD tank!) and the faculty and staff of Averill Elementary for allowing us to move our meeting out of the rain and into your school gym!!! Even the fun moved indoors! Ann Kostin-McGill, below, of Lansing Parks and Recreation bravely brought the inflatable bouncing track into the gym. It was a hit with the kids. (Screen-shot/Photo courtesy of Wes Thorp's blog.)
Community Gems...
Attracting new families! Averill Woods Neighborhood, developed in the 1970's and still inhabited by many of its original home owners, is now entering a phase where the next generation of families are moving in to the area. We even have several young neighbors that chose to buy homes in this neighborhood where they grew up.
Passionate conversations about our city and its future
Packed to capacity!
